About the role:

The Administrative Accountant reports to our CEO, with respect to the administrative role, and to our CFO, with respect to the accounting role, and is responsible for handling day-to-day office tasks, communications, file maintenance, daily bookkeeping, payroll preparation, accounting activities and report preparation..

Responsibilities:
  • Process employee payroll, sales commission reports and expense reports. Prepare and analyze monthly cash flow. Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations. Record and maintain fixed asset purchases and applicable depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Preparation of monthly working papers and assist in preparation of monthly financial statements. Assist in annual budget preparation.
  • Accounting Manage accounts receivable and payables. Reconcile all corporate bank accounts and credit card expenses and resolves any issue in processes. Respond to various queries and requests from customers and vendors. Maintain and document the filing of all corporate and tax accounts.
You have:
  • Experience with account software (Sage or QuickBooks). Diploma in accounting, business or finance or equivalent related experiences. Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Accounting:
Manage accounts receivable and payables.
Reconcile all corporate bank accounts and credit card expenses and resolves any issue in processes.
Respond to various queries and requests from customers and vendors.
Maintain and document the filing of all corporate and tax accounts, including GST/HST and PST returns, payroll tax remittance, Record of Employment, T4, T4A slips, WorkSafeBC and corporate annual returns.

Administration:
Maintain corporate files and ensure the company and its foreign subsidiaries are up-to-date and in good standing.
Maintain and update all customers accounts.
Maintain and update investor records and share registry.
Manage HR files and ensure all paperwork are properly signed.
Provide operational support to the sales department.
Assist in preparation of grant applications and coordinate project claims and reporting.
Assist in ad hoc tasks as assigned.
