About the role:

We’re seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Vancouver, BC based team. The successful candidate will be responsible to test key deliverables and validate compliance against business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and adherence to quality system standards, as well as to establish and/or improve the company’s current software testing methodologies and protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality assurance of PlaceSpeak’s software to ensure that the software is of very high quality when delivered to customers and/or deployed to the production environment
You have:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in positions of software Testing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control
Also desirable:
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Additional details:

The Quality Assurance Analyst will:
Perform quality assurance of PlaceSpeak’s software to ensure that the software is of very high quality when delivered to customers and/or deployed to the production environment
Develop test plans, test cases, and test reports
Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process
Identify, record, replicate, and communicate defects to project team
Sign-off on products being ready for deployment
Identify areas of improvement in quality assurance, and implement these improvements once approved
Perform technical support as required
Requirements
Experience and abilities:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in positions of software Testing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control
Experience working alongside software professionals in troubleshooting technical issues
Experience writing detailed software requirements, business workflow documents, software testing documents, and other technical articles and blogs
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with careful attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences as required
Experience with agile and scrum development methodologies
Other requirements:
All applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, or have a current permit to work in Canada. Applicants who do not have one of these statuses will not be considered
Preferred (but not required)
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Experience with testing for performance and security
Experience with Python
Experience with Jira (or equivalent defect management application/system)
Knowledge of HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, React, XML and JSON
Knowledge of SQL Server, database queries and stored procedures
Familiarity with Windows and Linux
Knowledge of scripting languages to script tests for quality assurance purposes
